Dont go in and ask for a Fish after 9.45pm.....chinese food ok.

Fella behind counter is very rude....lack of manners.

yeah i'd give the food 7 out of 10.better than average takeaway.guy has a major ignorance problem on the phone though.

love the fish and chips, large chips are 1.80 but the portions are good; and the fish is lovely. the owner is grumpy but that just the way he's always been, i just look past it, on upside the women that work there are very polite.

food is ok get big portions!! ALL the staff are rude! and shout but i supose you just ignore them

Its hit and miss with this place.

Yes, the portions are big, but quantity isnt always quality. Sometimes the food is good, sometimes its just OK and sometimes its bad (greasy etc).

John the owner is always rude as is his wife, they are ignorant towards their customers and overall customer service has never been with a smile! good as a local last resort!

The woman owner has the tendency to turn her nose up on people of race. I have witnessed her be very curteous and nice to the white people , but very nasty to the indian and black people. She also has a tendency to say things under her breath and in her language so that she doesnt convey the fact that she is rude and has no manners . Her husband is equally rude

totally disagree with all posts been going to this chippy as long as i can remember and have always had a pleasent experiene, and have always recommended to everyone.Have tried other chinese chippys and they have not impressed me i have always gone back to Tung Sing. It cant be as bad as your all making out, the business has being going for a very long time, so they must be doing something right for everyone to keep going back!!!

I don't go to the chippy to make friends, just want the grub which is great. But yeah customer service could be better, but, Bovvered!!!

this is 1 ov the best chippys iv been, i travel about 15 mile to get there and back. The food is excellent and the portions are huge, i understand why people say the man is ignorant but at the end ov the day he has his wife and other people serving while he is busy doing other stuff.
i would strongly reccomend trying this place the food is spot on and thats thats what counts at the end ov the day. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm tung sung gonna go now

This chippy is great and I go here all the time and the food is always amazing! Both English and Chinese dishes! Definitely the best chippy I have been too! So what if one man is miserable, the rest of the staff are pleasant enough :)
Lovely food and lovely staff if you ask me, its a shame when people write a review based purely on one member of staff. This in no way effects the quality of food or service as I think the staff here are great! :)

This is the worst chippy i have ever visited. the food is too greasy & staff are completly rude and arrogant. had meal from there last night and the fish was still raw in the middle. when i returned it was told of the arrogant male owner that was not from there chippy and ordered to leave the shop. Need to learn some customer service i think.

Totally rude and ignorant owners, big portions but greasy. Quantity over quality. They want to learn some manners and get some training on customer service.

These people are so rude, what about customer care. Why do people go to this place. They should be grateful that people are spending their hard earned cash there. They need a customer care course. Giving big portions does not make up for a bad attitude. I have seen the staff on two occasions being rude to customers, not to me but it still does not excuse this type of behaviour and I no longer go there.

very rude old man chip on his shoulder seems to change his prices too his wife just equally rude talking under breath watch your change if u go food average

Don't know where anyone is coming from saying these people are rude. They served me and my friends with a smile, served us quickly. Me and my friends were also having a conversation which involved a joke to which the staff laughed along with us. Definitely worth a try if you haven't tried Tung Sing before.

Been here loads of times even though it's not local to me, but don't mind the drive as the food is always great!!!
staff are very friendly and the price on the board is what they charge I would give there food/ service 10/10 in fact me going there as soon as it opens lol .

Haha I got barred from Tung Sings 23 years ago, one drunken sunday night, took John 8 years to let me back in...John does not own Tung Sings anymore, he left around 9-10 months ago, and he was very rude and grumpy, but that was his way, the new owners are more friendly, but the engish food, fish and chips etc have really gone downhill and are very greasy, on the other hand I have never had a bad Chinese meal, and the spring rolls are a meal on their own.

Just got a chicken tomato and fried rice. The chicken as never see chicken, it's a gelatine,tasteless , white blob...
