Not to be missed...
It's either Mela or no curry for me these days. This is where the local chefs go when they've got a day off. Don't be put off by its mundane appearance it's easily the best in the south west. How they do their lamb is a deep mystery... So tender. I hope you enjoy as much as I do!

Best curry for the best price
The veg thali is fantastic, enough for two people (or one very, very hungry person) very cheap and fantastic tasty. Don't bother with the Thali Cafe, this is better.

Lovely!
Lovely takeaway, i definitely recommend! Really decent prices, tasty, authentic food and lovely staff! Lost a lot of business since the Thali opened opposite but for fresh, indian food that is a fraction of the price, go to Mela!

they are my local takeaway and are always very friendly. the food i think is very nice and its my favourite indian in bristol. i think their veggie thali is super value and delicious!

Easily the best Indian in Bristol
Bristol on the whole isn't great for takeaway, but Mela makes up for that. The chef used to work acros the road in the Thali cafe but opened this tiny place run by his family.
It doesn't look like much but this is the best Indian food i've ever had, and my Indian friends all agree. The food is incredible and about half the price of any other Indian takeaway.
Get the homemade mango chutney for £1 and a few puppadums, plus the saag paneer and a bombay aloo. All classics done perfectly.

Best in Bristol
We absolutely love Mela!! We recently moved away from the area and are yet to find a take away that comes even close since moving...which means that we've now started driving the 15 minutes back to the area to pick up from Mela - guaranteed a delicious meal every time. authentic and really tasty.
