Kempley's Catch Okehampton

be good if the chips was nice and they where open!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure what the other reviewer was on about, how can they say the chips aren't nice and that it wasn't open.....not sure I have met anyone who can buy food from a closed takeaway!
Have lived in Okehampton all my life and this is the best fish and chips for miles around :-)

this shop has the best fish & chips this side of the moors..we don't bother buying them anywhere else if Kemply's are closed..

When I walked into the empty shop i had not realised that the rectangular dense lumps on display are what Kempley 's refer to as fish! I ordered haddock in the hope it may resemble what most people would expect to receive when they order fish. much to my dismay it was a frozen packeted birds eye fish lot no bigger than 5 inches perhaps 6 at a push. I thought to myself I shouldn't judge it by looks it may still taste amazing. Unfortunately when I opened the wrap to serve up to my husband. The batter had stuck to both pieces of paper to leave a very thin sliver of fish Laid across lunch times warmed up chips... Much to my husbands shock he had thought I had served him the kids dinner. I cannot fault the staff they are polite and friendly I now understand why I was the only person standing in Kempley on a Saturday evening. They seriously need to reconsider the quality of food and recipe for their lead batter.
