Food types

Balti Palace is a take-away located in Middleton in Manchester. Sadly, there isn't a menu for this takeaway on this site. There is a good range of food on offer at Balti Palace. Although this site doesn't currently have complete details for Balti Palace, we are working towards it. Balti Palace produces Indian as its speciality.

Hygiene Lacking

The hygiene is lacking at this take-away. The food is bland and the people running the takeaway is certainly part of the same gang as Jimmy Savile.

Great food

We had a menu posted through in the week and tried it today. When phoning the order through we were informed that there was a wait as they were busy. When it arrived the driver said sorry for the time it took. The chicken korma was the best ive had for a long while, full of flavour, plenty of chicken and sauce. My partner had the donner wrap meal and again very please with this. Although it took a while to come, it was lovely and will order again!

FOOD POISONING !!

I made the mistake of choosing this takeaway last week.
i hadn't eaten anything all day due to working later than expected, so when it arrived at 6pm, I was starving.
When i first had a mouth full of the curry i ordered, it had a funny aftertaste to it, but i was hungry and foolishly had another 2 mouth fulls, but the taste was that bad, i left it and ended up just eating the naan bread and rice.
6 am the next morning I awoke with stomach cramps and feeling nauseous.
I instantly knew it must have been the curry i'd eaten as I've had food poisoning before and that was all i could taste when vomiting, also, I hadn't eaten anything else that day that could have caused this.

I was ill all of that day and partly the next.
I was supposed to be going to a friends 30th the following night after consuming the curry, but had to cancel as i was still feeling ill.

So I took the liberty of visiting the Balti Palace, where i bought it from, along with the remains of the curry to inform the manager of the events, as i too have my own business and always appreciate any feedback, positive or negative.

I explained several times what had happened in a calm and reasonable manor and that in the circumstances , the least he could do was give me a refund of £15.00 which i spent.
(£3.00 of which may I add, was a tip for the driver, who was also behind the counter at the time)
I also pointed this out to the manager, hoping that he would think I was a decent customer with good character and not ' trying it on ' .
.
How wrong could I have been ? instead all of the staff including the chefs and other staff came out from the kitchen, which i found to be unnecessarily intimidating and started talking in a foreign language to each other, to which i pointed out to the manager was extremely disrespectful.
Unbelievably, from what started off as a calm , reasonable request for a refund turned into a shouting match.
At no point was there an apology, just confrontation.
I also told him that it wasn't about the money, but the principal
When I realised I wasn't going to get a refund, I left the premises, frustrated and angry, as the situation could have easily been resolved for the sake of £15.00.

Instead, I have taken the liberty of informing the environmental health Department and have retained the curry for them to inspect.

I have also taken the time to write this review, which hopefully at least some people will read and think twice about eating anything from this place.

If the manager or any member of staff reads this, just remember ,
I calmly tried to resolve this issue and your actions have lead to this for the sake of £15.00
Was it worth it .. really ?
